provider of education technology solutions, announces the addition of Sandip Sinharay, Ph.D. as Chief

Statistician. A leader in the field of educational measurement, Sinharay will provide statistical support

for Pacific Metrics’ programs and special projects.

As a key member of the Research department, Sinharay will continue to provide leadership, innovative

thinking and dedicated service in the field of educational measurement, while collaborating with internal

and external staff in support of programs, and lead efforts to gain external funding in support of

research and development. His previous appointments were at CTB as chief research statistician, and

at Educational Testing Service (ETS), as principal research scientist. In addition, Sinharay recently

completed a term as editor of the Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics (2011-2014) and is

on the editorial board of the Journal of Educational and Psychological Measurement.

Sinharay has received four awards from the National Council on Measurement in Education: twice for

Technical or Scientific Contributions to the Field of Educational Measurement (2009 and 2015), the

Jason Millman Promising Measurement Scholar Award (2006), and the Alicia Cascallar Award for an

Outstanding Paper by an Early Career Scholar (2005). Sinharay has coedited two published volumes

and authored or coauthored more than 75 articles in peer-reviewed statistics and psychometrics

journals and edited books. He has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Statistics from Iowa State University.
